Come cheer on former REBEL players, Deion James & Avery Smith as they, as well as the rest of the UW-Milwaukee Men's Basketball Team, take on North Dakota State!    Both seniors, and graduating this year, this is the LAST home game these two REBELS will play in for UW-Milwaukee.  Staff and friends of the Rebels will be out in full-force to show our support of these players, and we would love for you to join us.  So, come out, put on your Rebel Gear, and cheer with us, as UW-Milwaukee acknowledges these two players, as well as all the graduating Seniors, this Saturday night.  Go Panthers!  Go REBELS!

Express Yourself  w/ Jimmy Santiago event

The friends (Express Yourself) of Running Rebels Community Organization took time and their networking capabilities to invite Jimmy Santiago Baca to visit RRCO and speak with a group of youth on February 7th, 2009. Mr. Baca is an accredited writer and poet that received global recognition for him works. In addition, Mr. Baca was asked to speak at several events during the presidential inauguration this past month. He has served time in prison and taught himself to read and write during his incarceration. The movie "Blood In, Blood Out: Bound by Honor" was based in part on his life experiences. He did the screenplay for it and was the executive producer. This and other moments of his life were shared with the youth in a realistic street-level presentation with a genuine message...You can change.

Roses Violence Prevention Workshop (Custer HS)

The R.O.S.E.S. program held their first ever conference geared towards violence prevention. Held on January 17th of 2009, the event was deemed a success by the facilitators. The conference covered a variety of topics geared towards violence prevention including Healthy Living, Healthy Relationships, Domestic Violence, Conflict Resolution, Self Defense, amongst others.

Inauguration 2009 in Washington DC

Staff members, friends and family of Running Rebels Community Organization ventured east to Washington DC to be part of this historical event on January 20, 2009. Although their bodies were cold, their hearts were warm and filled with Joy as Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America. (some photos provided by the JS)
