Terms of Service

Effective Date: August 2026
Last Updated: August 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website located at runningrebels.org, including all content, features, and functionality made available on or through it (collectively, the “Site”), operated by Running Rebels Organization, a Wisconsin nonprofit corporation based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. By accessing or using the Site — including browsing our program information, submitting a form, signing up for our newsletter, applying for employment, or making a donation — you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Disclaimer, each of which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Website Use

About Running Rebels and This Site. Running Rebels Organization is a community-based nonprofit organization founded in 1980 that guides Milwaukee youth into adulthood through mentoring, positive programming, and community connection, including juvenile justice diversion, mentoring, academic and college-readiness support, after-school programming, athletics, and related wellness initiatives. Nothing on the Site is intended to represent that any particular outcome, result, or benefit is guaranteed to any program participant, donor, or visitor.

Eligibility; Use by Minors. The Site is intended for general audiences, including parents, guardians, youth, donors, volunteers, and community members. Many of our programs serve minors. Where a minor’s personal information is submitted through the Site (for example, in connection with program enrollment or an inquiry), we require that a parent or legal guardian submit or authorize that submission, or that it be collected through a program-specific, in-person enrollment process governed by separate consent and intake forms. General browsing of the Site does not require account creation or the submission of personal information.

Permitted Use. You may view, download, and print materials from the Site for personal, non-commercial, informational use, provided you retain all copyright and other proprietary notices. You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with our mission.

Donations and Payments. The Site allows visitors to make charitable donations to Running Rebels through a third-party donation processing platform (currently Click & Pledge). When you make a donation, your payment information is collected and processed by that third-party provider under its own terms and privacy practices, not by Running Rebels directly. Donations are voluntary and, except in cases of processing error, duplicate charges, or fraud, are generally non-refundable; if you believe a donation was made in error, contact us promptly at info@runningrebels.org. Running Rebels does not provide tax advice — please consult your own tax professional regarding the deductibility of any donation and retain your donation confirmation for your records.

User Submissions and Communications. If you submit information through a contact form, newsletter sign-up, volunteer inquiry, employment application, or similar feature, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to submit it. You consent to receive communications from us related to your inquiry and, where you have opted in, communications such as our newsletter. You may unsubscribe from marketing or newsletter emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting us directly.

Program Participation Is Separate From Site Use. Enrollment or participation in Running Rebels programs is governed by separate program-specific applications, consent forms, waivers, and/or agreements executed directly with Running Rebels staff, and not solely by these Terms. Nothing on the Site constitutes an offer, guarantee of acceptance, or guarantee of a specific program outcome.

3. Intellectual Property

The Site and its original content — including the Running Rebels name, logo, photographs, videos, program descriptions, and written materials — are owned by Running Rebels or used under license and are protected by U.S. copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Photographs and videos of program participants, families, staff, and events may not be copied or used for any purpose, including commercial or promotional use by third-parties, without our express written permission, in order to protect the privacy of the youth and families we serve.

4. User Conduct

When using the Site, you agree that you will not:

  • Copy, reproduce, republish, or distribute Site content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent;
  • Use the Site to harass, threaten, or endanger any person, including program participants, staff, or volunteers;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site, our servers, or any connected systems;
  • Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code, or otherwise interfere with the Site’s normal operation;
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect information about other users or program participants; or
  • Impersonate Running Rebels, our staff, or any other person or entity.

5. Third-Party Websites

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and embedded content from platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn, as well as our donation processor. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those third-party sites. Accessing them is at your own risk and subject to their own terms and policies.

6. Third-Party Technologies

This website may utilize third-party software, services, platforms, integrations, payment processors, hosting providers, analytics providers, mapping services, embedded media, artificial intelligence technologies, and other digital tools. These third-party services operate independently and are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, and practices. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or operations of third-party providers.

7. Artificial Intelligence & Digital Content

We may use artificial intelligence (“AI”) technologies to assist in the creation, editing, enhancement, translation, analysis, optimization, personalization, or generation of content and communications across this website and our related digital platforms. This may include website copy, blog articles, photographs, images, graphics, illustrations, videos, audio, animations, marketing materials, advertisements, emails, social media content, customer support tools, and other digital media.

AI-assisted content is reviewed by our team where appropriate; however, AI-generated or AI-enhanced content may contain inaccuracies or illustrative elements. By using this website, you acknowledge that AI technologies may be utilized in connection with our services and communications. We reserve the right to adopt current and future AI technologies to improve our products and services while complying with applicable laws and our Privacy Policy.

8. Accuracy of Information

We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and current. However, content may contain typographical errors, technical inaccuracies, outdated information, or content generated or enhanced using automated technologies. Users should independently verify information before relying upon it for business, financial, legal, medical, or other important decisions. In particular, please contact us directly at (414) 264-8222 or info@runningrebels.org to confirm current program offerings, eligibility criteria, schedules, and locations before making enrollment or travel plans.

9. No Professional Advice

Content on the Site relating to health, fitness, athletics, mental wellness, academics, the juvenile justice system, or personal development is provided for general informational and motivational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, legal, or educational advice. Participation in athletic or physical programming carries inherent risk of injury; participants and their parents/guardians should consult a physician as appropriate and will be asked to complete separate health and liability forms prior to participation. See our Disclaimer for additional detail.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Running Rebels Organization, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit liability that cannot be limited under applicable Wisconsin or federal law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Running Rebels Organization and its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our programs, operations, or legal requirements. The “Effective Date” at the top of this page will indicate when the Terms were last revised. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
